In case of such an activation, injury due to contact with the airbags is not completely impossible. 28 BMW India Pvt Ltd 17-May-2018 BMW E8X E9X CBU & CKD 9362 26-07-07 28-05-12 The plug-in contact of the positive battery cable on the front power distribution box (mounted behind the glove compartment) can be damaged due to vehicle vibrations and the frictional corrosion together with a high load current as a result of these. Damage to the plug-in contact can impair the power supply of the vehicle. There is a possibility that the vehicle entry does not function anymore or that it may no longer be possible to start the vehicle. BMW has not received any reports and is not otherwise aware of any injuries or fatalities related to this issue.
29 BMW India Pvt Ltd 28-Mar-2018 X3 CBU 1 28-09-17 28-09-17 The sealing cap of the pressure limiting value on the fuel delivery unit may be damaged. There is a possibility that, the suction flow pump performance is severely reduced. As a consequence of that, the fuel gauge can show an incorrect indication if a lower fuel delivery rate is present from the left to the right side of the tank. This can cause the engine to stop under certain driving conditions, even if fuel gauge indicated a sufficient fuel level. BMW has not received any reports and is not otherwise aware of any injuries or fatalities related to the issue.

The vehicle can still be decelerated with reduced braking power, as the brake circuit on the rear axle are fully functional. If the amount of brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir drops below the minimum, the warning message “Brakes: stop vehicle and check brake fluid level” will appear on the instrument cluster.

If under-deformed rivet studs are used on the same latch striker, small gaps between the hood and front bumper may start to develop at high speeds (above 150 km/h), allowing air to enter. These gaps can potentially increase at high speeds, and over time, the stress can cause the latch system to fail, separating the hood latch striker from the hood. A separated hood latch striker may allow the hood to open abruptly, obstructing the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash. It could also fully detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the safety-risk of a crash for following traffic.
