PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE)

The PM E-DRIVE Scheme, with an outlay of ?10,900 crore, shall be implemented from 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2026, for faster adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), setting up of charging infrastructure and development of EV manufacturing eco-system in the country. Further, EMPS-2024 being implemented for the period from 1st April 2024 to 30th September 2024 is subsumed under this Scheme.

Safety Glass QCO Amendment Order - 2023

In the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020, in Paragraph 2, after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted.“Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to import of safety glass by a vehicle manufacturer for manufacturing up to ten thousand vehicles manufactured in India per financial year:Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to import of up to 5,000 number of safety glass per financial year for the purpose of repairs or after sales service of vehicles.”.

Vehicle Location Tracking Device for vehicle carrying any dangerous or hazardous goods

It has been brought to the notice of this Ministry that vehicles, which are not under the ambit of national permit, carrying various gases viz Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen etc. and goods of dangerous or hazardous nature, are not fitted with Vehicle Location Tracking Devices.Accordingly, the Ministry, vide G.S.R 617(E) dated 3rd August, 2022, has mandated that every vehicle of categories N2 and N3, manufactured on and after the 1st Day of September, 2022, in the case of new models, and 1st day of January, 2023, in the case of existing models, carrying dangerous or hazardous goods, shall be fitted with a vehicle tracking system device as per AIS 140.It has been brought to the notice of this Ministry that vehicles, which are not under the ambit of national permit, carrying various gases viz Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen etc. and goods of dangerous or hazardous nature, are not fitted with Vehicle Location Tracking Devices.@Accordingly, the Ministry, vide G.S.R 617(E) dated 3rd August, 2022, has mandated that every vehicle of categories N2 and N3, manufactured on and after the 1st Day of September, 2022, in the case of new models, and 1st day of January, 2023, in the case of existing models, carrying dangerous or hazardous goods, shall be fitted with a vehicle tracking system device as per AIS 140.

Revised implementation schedule for OBD II for Two Wheelers and Three Wheelers
