As part of SIAM Sustainable Mobility Advocacy Concoction FY 2022-23, “ (Safe Journey) initiative has been approved to highlight contributions made by Indian auto industry in providing safer, affordable and environmentally benign inclusive mobility to all. In order to prioritise road safety imperatives of 5Es namely environment, engineering, enforcement, education and emergency care, Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE - An initiative of SIAM) has been engaged in doing pioneering work since year 1999.
SAFE is dedicated towards engaging with road safety stakeholders namely Policy makers both at Centre & States, Enforcement authorities, Vehicle Manufacturers, Vehicle Owners, drivers, public including pedestrians, students, other road users, personnel involved in emergency care, etc. in its endeavor to spread 360 degree awareness on imperatives of safety on road.
In line with Government’s vision for sustainable mobility, SAFE has been leading industry initiatives for creating a safer and cleaner mobility ecosystem. SAFE organizes training programs/ workshops on latest Road Safety, vehicular technologies and I&C system across the nation. These programs are aimed to create awareness on importance of road safety, adopting upcoming vehicular technology and regular maintenance among vehicle owners and regulatory bodies.
With SIAM commitment to promote safety & environment, this year the SAFE Annual convention 2022 & Mobility Exposition entitled “ (Safe Journey): Prioritizing Road Safety Imperatives of 5 Es” is being organized on Friday, 30th September 2022 at Swosti Premium Hotel, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
State of Odisha is making remarkable progress towards achieving goals of sustainable mobility by implementing various projects including road safety. The adaptive integrated traffic management system under the Bhubaneshwar smart city mission, “Rakshak” to train 30,000 first responders for “golden hour” response and organizing Road Safety Short Film Festival involving voluntary engagement of common citizens to create awareness by way of short films with simple messaging in six languages is noteworthy. Creation of Automated Model IDTR for driver training is also a step reflective of road safety commitment of Govt of Odisha.
We are pleased to share that Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik has kindly consented to grace the Inaugural Session of the SAFE Annual Convention in presence of SIAM President Designate, Shri Vinod Agarwal. The program will start with inauguration of Mobility Exposition by Hon’ble CM in presence of automobile industry leadership led by the President, SIAM.
We are pleased to inform you that a Mobility Exposition is also being conceptualised on the convention day i.e. Friday, 30th Sep 2022. The inauguration of the Mobility Exposition and ribbon cutting ceremony will be done upon arrival of Hon’ble Chief Minister followed by Inaugural Session of the SAFE Annual Convention. The Mobility Exposition may display products, technology and services involving participation from Mining / Automobile Industry players, OEMs and Component Manufacturers, Technology providers of IDTR, VLTD, HSRP, ATS and I&C, Driving Simulators, Medical experts and NGOs.
