World Environment Day 2023 is the biggest international day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme, and held annually since 1973, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. It is celebrated by millions of people across the world. It is celebrated on the 5th of June to give an opportunity for awareness creation, informed actions, and responsible conduct to express care, support, and gratitude for Mother Earth. This year’s focus is on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution. It is time for #BeatPlasticPollution to accelerate this action, transition to a circular economy, and achieve sustainable development goals in 2030.
Looking at the ongoing rapid transition across sustainable mobility, SIAM is working on multiple key initiatives of national importance to attain carbon neutrality by 2070 including India Vision 2047 through low carbon fuels and material circularity inter alia (i) ethanol blending achieving 20 percent by 2025 (ii) promotion of gaseous fuels like CNG, LNG etc, and (iii) circularity of material fostering circular economy to reduce pollution, GHG emissions and cut import dependence.
Continuing with the unflinching commitment towards environment and Sustainable mobility, SIAM has been commemorating for many years World Environment Day annually as per the apt theme announced by United Nation. Accordingly, SIAM is organizing an International Conference entitled “Imperatives of Sustainable Mobility: Towards Vision India@2047” on 5th June 2023 with the following key sessions:

This conference will impart knowledge and share rich experiences including learnings from expert speakers on low-carbon fuels, especially ethanol, and gaseous fuels, in addition to the circularity of material. Further, the deliberations aforesaid imperatives of sustainability will help learn the need of the hour i.e., decarbonization, carbon neutrality, and ESG compliance of the automotive sector, and will also provide a glimpse of existing & upcoming policies, the regulatory and legislative framework for alternative fuels, and sustainable mobility both at the national and international levels.
Who to attend the event:
The aforesaid conference will be attended by industry representatives, policymakers, regulatory bodies, registered recyclers, prominent NGOs, national and international subject experts including public-spirited individuals.
What participants stand to gain from the Event:
-
Policies & regulations: Biofuels, gaseous alternative fuels, BS-emission norms, 3 Rs, material circularity, decarbonization, and renewable energy, etc.
